I got a fabulous recording of the Pacific Wren’s song last week, but today I spotted it, with its tell-tale cocked tail, and was able to watch it for quite a while. Nearby, a pair of Varied Thrushes perched on a branch momentarily. Another lifer for me.
Also was serenaded by a lovely Anna’s Hummingbird (screenshot from a longer video).
Incidentally I also saw a Douglas Squirrel, an endemic species threatened by the ubiquitous invasive gray squirrel.
