Birding at Loch of Kinnordy (2 Viewers)

I did see him at Kinnordy a couple of years ago I think, but he wasn't able to get there so regularly.

Ummmm,... just thinking maybe it was before Covid, as I don't remember asking him how he fared during lock down. So that would be nearer 4 years ago now, wouldn't it.

Had an hour or two in the Gulley and Swamp hides, it was quite windy, the water is high and there was not a lot going on, plenty of carnage from the Beavers, I wonder how long it will take for them to be fed up with the damage?
Marsh Harriers showed, no Ospreys, one Red Kite, the odd Sedge Warbler, Redshank, a distant Shoveler and Lapwing, one Curlew flew by, got an Osprey at Balgavies on the way home.

Popped into the main hide for a blether, most of the loch at the west end was still frozen, highlight was 5 Whooper Swans. Heard a report of two White Tailed Eagles over Lintrathan earlier, but we missed them. Last week a male Hen Harrier was seen, so I shall keep my eye out just in case.

Oh I'm glad the Whoopers were back there, my last visit a couple of weeks ago there were loads of Mute Swans, but no Whoopers in sight.

Did you notice they've cut back all the bog bean? Not sure why they've done that. The only island now is the remains of one of the old rafts!

I thought the heap of stuff was a new Beaver lodge to start with, certainly been doing some maintenance.
