Hi guys!
On September 15th my wife Karina my friends Johan Fernandez and Roy Orozco went to Durika and Los Altos de Salitre in search for the birds that are specific to this area i.e wedge tailed grass-Finch, White tailed Nightjar, ocellated crake and rosy thrush-tanager. which we were so lucky to get them all plus some bonus e.g bare crowned antbird, a lifer for me.

Please feel free to check the entire story on my blog. Manuel Antonio birding

Congrats on some quality birds! I was only only up that way once- such a unique area, would love to go back. We missed the nightjar- probably saw one fly off of the road but just didn't get a good enough look. Yes, that crake is kind of unblievably tough to actually see. We saw a head pop up and the briefest of looks at one zipping away like a spotted mouse.

Thank you Patrick!
well we went there twice (2013 and 2014) to finally get those birds! this time we were really determined to get those birds even though it would take us all day. luckily we got them by 1:30ish!
