Birding Sian ka'an vicinity (1 Viewer)

New to list and hoping for some info re others experience of birding in or in vicinity of Sian kaan. Hope to be in area towards end of Jan likely in rental car. An old post mentioned the dirt road from Puerto Carillo as good birding and wondered how good thw good the road is? Also appreciate any info re anyones lodging experience in Puerto Carillo preferably inexpensive!! Is the road through Sian kaan decent?

Any info on this birding area appreciated! Thanks!

I found Gray-collared Becard, Northern Beardless Tyrannulet as new for me on the Vigia Chico Rd. No problem in a smallish regular car. We stayed one night in FPC, at El Faisan y El Venado. It was not too expensive, but also not great at all. A little more expensive, a bit further away from FPC, and a bit better was Don Diego in Tulum. That is where we stayed before visiting Muyil.

I think there is better places without being too expensive in FPC, but I was without internet before choosing.
