Blue Tit: Can anyone help? Any ideas what maybe wrong please? (1 Viewer)

It's been eating and sleeping on a bird feeder most of the day. It seems quite lethargic. It recently moved to the bird bath/saucer on the ground and just sat there for around 30 mins without much movement. Now it has hopped onto the side of a plant pot where, again, it is just sitting without much movement.

Something just doesn't seem right! Any ideas? Any suggestions as to what I can do, if anything?

I tried to upload a video of it but it conked out at around 50%. Not sure why!

It's just moved back to the bird feeder where it's sat not moving much.

It does appear to be trying to eat but there's not much reaction from it when I get close.

For the past 20-30 mins it's been laying down on the feeder tray. It's hardly moving and I am being to wonder if that's where it's going to sleep tonight.

It definitely looks unwell. By allowing it to remain on the feeder you are probably putting other birds at risk of catching whatever illness it may have (virus, flu or otherwise). The clever thing would probably be to remove the feeder and sanitise it. (You may want to put a small amount of food out for the bird itself).

Thanks for the advice. I'll clear all the feeders out and sanitise. I'll isolate the feeder with the bird on first.

I'll also clean out and refill all the bird baths.

I've setup fresh food and water in one of our mini green houses and carried the blue tit, feeder and all down next to the new setup.

I've emptied and then sanitised and washed out all the other feeders.

Any other suggestions would be most appreciated to make the little chap as comfortable as possible.
