Blue Tits (1 Viewer)

We have a glass door in the sitting room leading to the garden. A blue tit sits on the handle and keeps pecking the window and handle!! It flies up and down the window flapping its wings. We left the door open but it did not come in!!

Any ideas what this kind of behaviour means? We have a nesting box next to the door but it is not using that.

Thanks

Welcome to Birdforum.

I expect it’s seeing its reflection in the glass and thinks it’s a rival.

You may want to reposition the nest box as if it’s by a door which is used, it is unlikely to be used because of the disturbance.
