Breeding California condor dies of lead poisoning (1 Viewer)

This is indeed sad news, a couple of years ago, I met one of the guys responsible for the recovery of the California Condor - their original demise was precisely due to this problem. As the article states, lead ammuntion has been banned in counties where the Condor has been released/reintroduced.

The fact that there are 350 out there is encouraging news - I saw a couple of immature birds in the Grand Canyon not long after they were starting the reintroduction programme - awesome.
