Budget spotting scope that is clear at the upper end? (2 Viewers)

Aiming for no more then $300 USD but willing to stretch if its not possible at my budget. But would really like something that is clear at 40x-60x if at all possible. I already have a tripod and head that is robust enough for 80mm objective fwiw.

Right now I live in a place with abundant sunshine.

Thanks in advance.

May be a difficult (impossible?) ask at that budget for a spotting scope, perhaps look into a Maksutov if you don't mind something a bit heavier and less robust.

The best, in your price range, is the Athlon Argos 20-60x85 HD @ $299.99
  • Phase Coated Porro Prism: Phase Coated Porro prisms reflect great mount of lights to your eyes which will give you bright image.
  • Advanced Fully Multi-Coated Lenses: Advanced Fully Multi-Coated lenses bring you better light transmission to bring optimum brightness and true color across the entire light spectrum.
  • Nitrogen Purged: Nitrogen Purging uses the inertia gas to purge moisture out of the tube giving you better waterproofing and thermal stability.
  • Waterproof: Waterproof to protects the binocular in the harshest weather conditions or if accidently submerged underwater.
  • Rotating Ring: Rotating Ring allows you to rotate the scope around tripod supporting ring into the most comfortable and convenient angle for observation.

"Inertia gas" ? :)

Depreciation on optics can be huge. Shop - carefully - for something used.

Hi,

Nikon FSII or III ED seconded... but for $300 you will only get a straight FSIIED and the not so desirable EPs... like here... FSII ED with the small 20-45x zoom and what looks to be an old 60x narrow EP...

Or be patient and wait one with the large 20-60x zoom... but it will probably quite a bit more expensive...

Okay we will be patient! Thank-you!

Is the 20-45 that bad? No one seems to want to get rid of a scope with the 20-60x and kinda need a scope as I'm missing out on these rarities at my local reservoir. Thanks!

Buy if you can from BH Photo so if you are not happy with the scope it is painless to return it. It is at maximum magnification where shortcomings are most apparent and many simply avoid that end of the zoom range and get by.
