Hope someone has checked Grafham lagoons this morning for the Black winged Stilts as must have passed by closely??? Stuck in my windowless office all day....

Looks like the BwStilts are in the Nene Valley so still some hope for Grafham lagoons?!

29 May. Black-throated Diver seen to fly off from Fen Drayton. Hope someone can check Grafham!! If I wasn't stuck in my windowless office all day...

The Red necked Phalarope was still showing distantly at March famers at 18:15...

Also 2 Grey Plover, 4 Dunlin.

5 Spoonbill at March farmers till 2pm at least.

2 Curlew till 5.45 pm - when they flew high n/e

1 Green Sandpiper 5.30, in the n/e corner

2 Garganey, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Ringed Plover, plus Cuckoo.

1 Green Sand and 1 Greenshank were my only reward this morning, the Glossy Ibis (patch tick) eluding me :-C

Great evening at March farmers yesterday - with the Great white Egret giving constant viewing - albeit distantly. Bittern doing regular flypasts. Single Spoonbill, plus Hobby and Cranes

Dipped the Ibis 5 times now

Thought I'd better start bird spotting again having been away a lot. First visit to Grafham and amazed that the tide is out. Should be some good waders if you can find them. They must have stopped pumping water in due to the drought!
An osprey on 9/9 mid morning having a hard time with the big gulls. At least one Yellow legged gull around the dam allowing some close ups. As a guess a regular bird that spends the late summer in the day time as it seems to be very familiar with the lay out. Not many dead fish washed up unfortunately for them to fight over.
Rain is setting in so time to get out and get wet ....

17 Aug Grafham water ; 3 Turnstone and 9 Dunlin on the dam early morning

20 Aug Grafham Water. No sign of Lesser Scaup from Dudney Hide this evening. Tufted ducks very spread out and no body else searching apparently, strange it would disappear with so many Tufted ducks present but then its a big place. The water is getting very low and I believe we have a couple of months left before they start pumping water in.............
