Chao Phraya River Blue Bird (1 Viewer)

I saw a beautiful bird with blue wings yesterday, and it had a light grey chest, and a yellow beak. I saw the Collared Kingfisher online that looked very similar, but I believe the beak was way too large on the kingfisher, and the beak is not yellow as well.

Any guesses? I saw two of them in a pair so that can't be all that uncommon. This was on the Chao Phraya River near Pak Nam, about 10 miles south of Bangkok.

Thank you.

It could have been an Indochinese Roller, and maybe the yellow beak was an effect of the light, but Collared Kingfishers are also common in that area.

Why not a Oriental Dollarbird who may have a yellow beak.

While Dollarbirds are seen during passage migration in and around BKK, and these could have been a pair of birds that are a little early, Rollers are resident to the area. Additionally, the OP mentioned the 'blue wings', and while Dollarbirds do have some blue, I've never seen it as brilliant or evident as with an Indochinese Roller in flight.

OK, Thanks

Thank you.

What I saw looked exactly like the Collared Kingfisher. So, I suppose that is what it was. I could have sworn it did not have a massive beak however. But I probably just misremembered it or something.
