Hi,

I'm going to Costa Rica soon and will be taking my digiscoping kit with me. I have a Coolpix 990 (i.e. AA-type NimH rechargeables). I have a charger with a standard UK plug. Anybody have any idea what electrcity sockets they have and what do I need to plug my standard UK plug in?

Many thanks.

Good question Marek.

I was there 2 years ago and to the best of my recollection my wife used her hair dryer in our hotel room. Since we are from the U.S., I would guess their outlets are the same as ours.

Yep, just discovered that. The charger I use is a Uniross. It came with a transformer that plugs in to the charger which runs at 240v. Would it be possible to get a 110v transformer (with US style plugs) and use that? If so, does anybody know where I could get one in the UK?

Many thanks.

Take a look on the Label on the Charger for your Camera you have, and see what voltage range it needs, On the the Coolpix 4500 the range is 100-240v it should work does anyone agree?
