Sorry guys, but I have to quit BirdForum, and the dear Bird Name Etymology sub-forum, all together ...

As you've probably seen, or noticed, recently I've been keeping us all busy, with various names in alphabetical order, starting from Aa, Bb and Cc, ... all the way until Zz, simply as I've been cleaning my Desk, and now it's finished. I'm done. Enough is enough. I simply have to 'throw in the towel'.

I have realized that there's not time enough to work through every single name (still) remaining in my MS, not in this slow and time-consuming manner. As I don't expect to experience the age of +130, I have to End this (vain) attempt of mine, in trying to cover every single Swedish Bird name, reaching all the way [incl. those very last (Swedish) letters; Åå, Ää and Öö, of course]. Thus, my intended Book will never be completed.

However, there is no use crying over spilt milk, along the way I've learnt a lot, and this I must say, as a wrap-up, when I suggested to the BirdForum Crew, some thirteen years ago, that they/we ought to start up a Bird Name Etymology section/sub-forum I had no idea how much fun we would end up having. And how much work we've actually done, during the years, with multiple achievements, in both minor or major ways, in various different topics ... well, it's been a pleasure, and a privilege (and, without being neither too long-winded, nor too sentimental): Thanks to you all!

Keep the pot boiling

Björn Bergenholtz ... over and out!
