Choosing a teleconverter for zoom (1 Viewer)

Hi. Can someone tell me which cheap converter models in the 1.4x-2.4x range work with Nikon Nikkor 55-300 af-s from 150 mm to 250 mm without increasing aberrations and with autofocus support? I am satisfied with outdoor shooting on a sunny day, so the question of stillness of the frame does not bother me.

You're not going to be happy with any tc on that lens imo. The Nikon tc would be the best but not worth buying. I gave up on teleconverters. They require good glass to begin with and perfect conditions to get anything acceptable. Best bet is to find a second hand 150-600 Tamron/Sigma to get more reach.

These lenses, even if they have a built-in autofocus motor, will be very expensive, even on the used market, and will be much harder to find in my country. I also have experience with lenses 70 -300 from Sigma apo with a gold ring, I really didn’t like their optics, aberrations were practically not corrected.

Besides, I already carry two lenses with me, and I don’t want a third one. My trips are always full of surprises, including wide-field photographs of landscapes and architecture, macro photography of flowers and insects, and birds...
