Cleaning Inside Your Scope (1 Viewer)

Atricapilla

Still Wandering
I know there has been lots of threads about cleaning our scopes and bins, but I just wanted to know if anyone has ever attempted to clean the mirror inside your scope due to dust settling when interchanging eyepieces.
If so what is the best/safest way to do so and what should I use.
I have never had the nerve to do this in case I damaged something.

I use a puffer type brush, with very soft bristles and hold the scope upside down so any stuff falls outwards rather than inwards. I've never had the nerve to use any cleaning solution on that bit of the scope as I'd be gutted if it caused a problem.

I know exactly how you feel Keith,I will try what you suggested though.
