Coney Meadow and Adjoining Areas (21 Viewers)

Lesser Whitethroats at Coney Meadow, Egg Lane, Mildenham and Hawford Lock this morning.
Cuckoos at Caulin Court and Mildenham.
Drake Mandarin between Tapenhall and Mildenham.
House Martin over near Hawford
Sand Martin at Hawford Lock plus 2 near Chatley.
Male Yellowhammer near Salwarpe bridleway plus male Stonechat.
The commoner Warblers now well represented in most of their usual spots.

Egyptian Geese 2+5
Kingfisher
Grey Herons
Greylag Geese around Hawford and Ladywood.

For some reason, April is often the month when Goshawk puts in an appearance on this patch.

Other birds noted this morning:

A Grasshopper Warbler sang briefly from the Salwarpe end of Coney Meadow just after 8am.
Cuckoos at Salwarpe, Caulin Court and Tapenhall.
A pair of Mandarins were flying around Coney.
Lesser Whitethroats in many areas - Coney Meadow, Porter's Mill, near Chatley, Mayhouse Farm and 2 around High Park area.
Singing Willow Warbler still around Lucy's Wood.
House Martins over Droitwich, Tapenhall (3) and near Chatley (2).
3 Yellowhammers
Reed and Sedge Warblers
Common Whitethroats
Female Stonechat
Greylags
Egyptian Geese
Raven
Swallows
 
A Red Kite near Porter's Mill this morning.
Grasshopper Warbler singing Coney Meadow towards the riverside at the back in the centre.
Another Grasshopper Warbler singing in the sedgy field near Mildenham.
Little Owl showed at Linacres paddocks.
Cuckoos at Ladywood and Tapenhall - both seen and heard.
Male Stonechat near the bridleway.
Lesser Whitethroats at Egg Lane, Linacre Bridge and Coney Meadow.
House Martin and Sand Martin at Porter's Mill plus Swallows.
Reed, Sedge and Cetti's Warblers
