Confirmation on U.S. warblers (1 Viewer)

I find pic. 2. a little difficult. Orange-Crowned has been considered, but so have Blackpoll, Bay-Breasted, Pine and Blue-Winged. The thinking is, that it has to be one of these. It´s not a good photo,so pure guessing, what about Pine Warbler.
Woulden´t those wing bars be to prominent on a Orange-Crowned! (?)

After scouring, the 650+ pages of Peterson's "field Guide to North American Warblers," I've convinced myself bird #2 is a Tennessee Warbler.

That being said, it would not surprise me if it isn't. The only one who can identify these little birds absolutely, all the time is God!

In the field, I am amazed at people who can catch a fleeting glimpse of one of these birds, and call out the species. I've stared at some for five minutes hopping from bush to tree and back, and still end up with 3 or 4 possible candidates. So I usually end up choosing the most common for the time and location, or just my familiar AW notation (another warbler).

Hi Texas!
Fall warblers can be difficult, lots and lots of study is a necessity. I would say, as far as I know, those bold wing bars seems wrong for Tennessee. Although guessing. my vote is still Pine Warbler.

Aha! I see the problem. I'm referring to the 2nd bird in posting #1. I didn't realize Warbler had posted another pic on posting #10.

For Posting #10, I wouldn't object to Pine warbler; but I'll vote for 1st Fall Bay-breasted female.

Hi again Texas!
Alright, Bay-breasted, good point. Tennessee it was 1st pic. lower bird. Agreed on that one. Bay-breasted usually has dark feet and legs, Blackpoll yellowish. The white tips on the greater and lesser coverts semms to be a little wider on Bay-breasted than on Blackpoll. On the one image it´s of course difficult to draw any conclusion on that part, but the feet are yellowish. So Bay-breasted or Blackpoll I would say.
