Crazy Bluebird (1 Viewer)

1. For the second year in a row I have bluebirds or a bluebird that returns to my house in the woods and starts hitting the window. S/he also climbs up and around the strings I put on another window for bird safety.
2. I figure it might be the reflection of itself in the window that gets it going. But why don't other birds do that?
3. Is it possibly hereditary and it's the same bird from last years brood?
4. Is it true that squirrels can be bluebird predators?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Other birds do try to attack their reflection in a window. I've seen it with Cardinals & Woodpeckers.

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on BirdForum!

I'm surrounded by squirrels and I have never, ever see a squirrel attack a bird.

Welcome to BirdForum.

Some birds do attack their own reflections. We have a lot of squirrels in our garden and I’ve never witnessed them attack birds.
