Hi all, just wondering has anyone used the nikon d7000 with the sigma apo 50-500mm f4-6.3 EX DG LENS , and if so how have you found the results.
i am currently thinking of buying the d7000 and would appreciate your valuable opinion .Thanks

I tried a D300 with the above lens (non OS version) and was happy with the results. It's a nice lens, sharp and quite contrasty with good colour reproduction.

Hi Mak,

I agree with Adrew but not at 100%. Maybe he have a good unit, but if you read carefully different reviews there are many units with front/back focus and very soft at 500 unless you go between f/8 and f/16

I´ve tryed one from a close friend and have to say that for sports, in high contrast situations, a lot of times have difficult focusing. Another added problem is that you havent focus limiter, and when the camera loose focus, the lens have to move from the beggining to the end to reach the focus again. I dont know exactly wich price you find it or how much can you afford, but I think that for the value, you can go for a Nikon 300 f/4 and a TC-1.7 or TC-1.4 and for sure you will obtain better results. If you are decided to go forward with the Sigma, try to test it befor buy it

Hope it helps!
