Duck parentage, Warwickshire (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
There is a duck on my local patch atm that I've been recording as a domestic, but wonder if it might be a Muscovy Duck x domestic Mallard hybrid? It was released with a Muscovy Duck (subsequently gone) and some domestic ducks, which this bird doesn't associate with even though the other domestics stick together. The bird looks similar to some of the hybrids at http://10000birds.com/hybrid-mallards.htm (scroll down) but I'd like to know others' opinions. Pics below, but unfortunately the tail feathers are a bit tatty at present.
Kind regards,
Matt

Well, I would think so (for what my inexpert opinion is worth): the green tertials are certainly consistent with Muscovy parentage.

yes it is !general shape as well as the green speculum fit.
The bill coloration is not one of the commonest, but OK for that hybrid.

Many thanks fugl and Joern. Don't think anyone's tried to identify this kind of hybrid in Warwickshire before so, dare I say it, quite pleased.

It looks to me as if it might be/have some Cayuga in it.

Have a look at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cayuga_Duck

Also other images if you google Cayuga..

I was once informed on an internet forum bya nationally well known duck expert that they aren't uncommon as escapees around the British countryside. So it or a hybrid would seem possible.

To me the green sheen size etc suggest it.
