Hi

Please help id-ing these ducks seen in Tamilnadu, South India. All images were taken today (17-Nov-2018). Really sorry about the awful pics. They were just too far.

1/2) Same individual. Have not seen this one before.
3) Common teals?
4) Not sure about these. Particularly Keen on the one in the extreme right.
5) Not sure about these. Are all of these the same species?

Thanks a lot.

Ajay

1-2 eurasian wigeon
3-5 all northern pintail

1 and 2 looked so much like a wigeon, but all the males I'd seen before had a grey flank and a black rear. And the females I'd seen also looked different. Got thrown off by that.

Thanks very much.

Cheers
Ajay

Agreed with Lou's IDs. The Wigeon looks like a male still on its way out of eclipse plumage (which seems a bit late to me, but maybe they moult later in India?)
