Electronic Grouse Call??? (1 Viewer)

I'm sure the subject has been discussed before, tho' I can't find it. Is there such a thing as an Electronic Grouse Call? In the area where I cut turf, there are quite a few grouse, and in the Spring time the males are calling and displaying. I was thinking of erecting a hide and using a call to get the birds within range as I don't have a telephoto lens. Such a method may be frowned upon with rare species as it may be classed as disturbance. What are the present views or acceptable methods? Do grouse ever come to cereal or grain or salt etc?

Thanks,
Keith.

All you need by way of equipment is a tape or CD of European bird calls (of which there must be many) & a suitable player & you're in business. As far as the ethics of "tape luring" is concerned, there are lots of opinions about that on Bird Forum, mostly negative. Myself, I use it occasionally to bring birds in close for photography and/or ID, but try not to overdo it.
