Hi All

As before. Small mixed copse, river.

Although dark bodied there is enoiugh orange/yellow, evidently an Eristalis of some sort (wing loop etc).

I think I can see a stripe down the middle of the face = tenax or pertinax and I recall it being a fair size.
Pertinax has the front and mid-tarsi yellow/orange, my one is black.

So that should leave me with tenax............. I don't see any vertical row of hairs on the eyes.

Could someone take a look and help with this?

Thanks, Gareth

Looks ok for tenax to me although I’m not an expert.
Possibly the angle and shading isn’t the best for seeing the eye hairs?
Cheers
James
