The situation seems to be quiet in Ethiopia now and so I am going there for birding with local guide from 25 October to 11 November - Rift valley lakes, Bale Mts, Negelle, Yabello, Awash, Jemma. Happy to hear about any birders also in the region.

Well, it's not thát quite, very sadly!
They even burned down Bishangari lodge.

Situations change very rapidly in Ethiopia, from seemingly quiet to roadblocks all over the country. Last week my Ethiopian partners informed me that it was quiet again, but a week there were road blocks all around Addis... So be prepared for not being able to get everywhere, especially the area around Shashemene all the way to Bale NP is notorious for demonstrations. Awash and Yabello are safe and quiet, but to get there you will have to pass through potentially dangerous areas.
