European rollers in Cyprus - Request for information (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I'm a PhD student based at the University of East Anglia (UK) and am currently carrying out a research project upon European roller breeding ecology and conservation in the Mediterranean region. One component of the project is the gathering of breeding parameter and foraging habitat data from an as yet to be determined number of roller breeding sites in Cyprus. This will include recording rates of egg laying, hatching and fledging success at each nest studied.

I would therefore be grateful if any Cypriot birders, or birders visiting the island from elsewhere in the world, who have recent location data for any confirmed roller nest sites on the island could contact me confidentially at the e-mail address provided below. All field work will be carried out with the permission of the Cypriot Government and no birds will be harmed during its undertaking.

Many thanks in advance,

Phil Saunders
