Fake or not? (1 Viewer)

Dears,

I'm going to buy these binoculars. This is a Carl Zeiss 8*20 T*Conquest Compact. But I heard that this model is often faked. How can you tell if it's fake or not? I am confused by the crooked inscription on the bag.

Thanks.

Presumably the "Nord Stream" logo on the case indicates that the pipeline company gave out binoculars at some event, possibly to their employees, so not a problem, maybe even a further clue that they're genuine? I don't know what the presumption would be in Russia.

That sounds reasonable. On a quick search I found one for sale in the US for $507.00 (?!)

Doesn't look like the bins pictured have seen much use, if any. Of interest, the diopter knob is not knurled, unlike the focusing knob.

@Nikkotor let us know how it goes.

Sorry, I missed the opportunity to buy this item. Someone took it already.
Maybe it is a sign for me to stick on the precious three - VP 8x25, Curio 7x21 or UV 8x20... These options are still available.
