Feather, Leeds Uk (poor photo) (1 Viewer)

Hi, could anyone ID the feather in the following picture? Found in a field close to Leeds-Bradford airport by my friends young daughter. Apologies for poor quality (mobile phone camera) but the size can be worked out as it's in my hand and the colour is pretty much as it appears but a little bit redder at the edges.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Without seeing the feather in real life, it looks very much like one of my cockerels feathers. Is the red a coppery red or more red red if that makes sense?

I'd say more coppery red, had thought it may have come from some domestic bird though I couldn't think of what part of the bird it came from. Also haven't seen the area where it was found as it was a Beaver Scout camping trip she had been on. Rooster sounds pretty good to me though.

Agree on the chicken origin for the feather, we used to get handfuls of these when we kept bantams during the 1960's.

The scout camp at Bramhope, which is probably where she had been, is close to several smallholding with chickens etc.
