Female Black-tailed skimmer? (1 Viewer)

Mis

Well-known member
I found this one sitting on a grass seedhead this morning between heavy showers. I think it's a female black-tailed skimmer but my book says that teneral males are also yellow. I'm assuming that the black markings wouldn't be present on the male.
Can anyone confirm what I saw please.

I also agree with female, teneral males also have the black markings, but the abdomen is broader than in the female.

Thank you both. I don't see a lot of dragonflies and they never look quite like the ones in my book!
