Apologies if this is a daft question but chemicals, such as FESO4 can be use to help with fungi identification. So my question is where do you get it from? Do you dissolve something like this

in water or is there somewhere you can get the solution ready made? Guaiac would also be very useful.

Speaking as a chemist with no experience with identifying fungi: yes, that is a perfectly fine.
I would not get a ready-made solution because that will be sensitive to oxidation and rust formation.
