Went out for my first time ever yesterday as a new birder and had a great time. It was a guided bird walk through Cornell Lab of Ornitholgy (Ithaca, NY). Within a 3/4 mi loop around the pond, we saw 20 species. My personal highlight was observing an osprey and a belted kingfisher. I'm already looking forward to going back out again!

Hi ADKiwi and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing about the birds you see as you continue your journey into your new pasttime.

An Osprey and a Belted Kingfisher is a fantastic start for a first birding outing.
