Fledgling: (2 Viewers)

Long story short,
I having been looking after a fledgling that was definitely abandoned by its parents, having observed activity for a day. It lives in the front garden and is developing quickly, its healthy and strong. I have stopped using tweezers to feed it, I now drop food on the ground and hide it under leaves for it to find.
Problem, a male blackbird who is feeding its own fledglings is stealing the food I am putting out. My main concern is this: will the visiting male bird attack/kill my fledgling as he might be seen as a territorial threat.
Any help will be very much appreciated.

I'd be happy if it stole the fledglings food rather than attack and eat the fledgling

Is the little one okay with you around? If so, if you could park yourself outside while you are feeding the fledgling and hopefully your presence will keep the Blackbird away. Good luck and please let us know how it goes.

Hi again Angela. Do you know which species your fledgling is?

We have some general guidelines here for the care of injured and baby birds which you might find helpful.

Please let us know how you get on.

The blackbird fledgling is fine with me, he's cautious but not frightened of me but he is of others, unfamiliar voices, loud noises etc The adult black birds I am worried about are from this area, the male sings from our apple tree but his territory moved a couple of doors down late last year. I feed the bird throughout the winter months so they are familiar with me and are not easily frightened away.
I don't mind them eating any food I leave out but I am worried about it hurting or killing the fledgling if they see it as competition and the like.

He is a blackbird fledgling, I have been looking after him for about a week, he is healthy and strong. He was in a a bit of a state when I found him but his progress and development has been amazing.

Day one, 3 days later and the most recent photograph of the fledgling
