Flying insect in Turkey (1 Viewer)

I'm weak in the bug department, especially outside USA. I saw this in SW Turkey today. Can anyone ID it for me? Thank-you.

I'm not much good on these either but I guess this is some sort of robber fly. Beyond that I don't know.

Better than me, Andrew, I've never even heard of a robber fly.

Yes, one of the Asilidae but that's as close as I can get. If anyone is expert they might have a go at one I photographed in Greece a couple of years back!
