The photo was taken in Poland. I know it's hard to see anything on this photo, but any ideas? At first I thought of a Spotted Flycatcher, but she said the bird was rather plain brown.

I would bet for a Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros) - immature. Thin bill and the "face appearence"

Had Black Redstart in mind, but can't justify it yet for the lack of visible and obvious red in the tail.
Start means tail in Dutch; staart.
