Glossy Ibis (1 Viewer)

Guest
April 23rd, Midday, at Bowling Green Marsh. Glossy Ibis present along the waterway adjacent the road running past the hide (towards Topsham). Good closeup view. Good luck to you this weekend.

Hello and welcome qqqqq.
That must of been a lovely view in the sunshine.
I had a distant shady view at about 6;30ish.
It is Izzy isn't it.

Thanks for your responses! The news tonight (April, 27) said that sexing the bird is difficult, which is what the literature says. Does anyone have any insights that would help in that regard?

I got 'Izzy' this weekend too! - with Gerry on Friday evening, and again on Sunday, close-up in bright sun, stunning.

Checked up, there's no sex difference in plumage. Males are on average slightly larger than females, but I suspect sexing would only be feasible if you had several together to compare directly with each other.
