Goldfinch Window Strikes (1 Viewer)

Over the last few weeks I have had goldfinches flying into my downstairs window...I have no idea why they are suddenly doing this - the feeders have not changed position and we have only ever had the odd wood pigeon hit the window. 2 were able to rest for 30 minutes and then fly off, whilst sadly 2 were nabbed by my cat who usually has no interest in birds.
I guess I should invest in some window stickers - can anyone else share their experiences on this - it's really quite distressing as they are one of the rarer birds to visit and I have only really seen them over the last year or so.

I'd just get them, they're not expensive. We don't have them ourselves but from what I hear they do work well. We had a baby goldfinch fly into the window a few months ago and unfortunately he was dead by the time I got outside - very sad to see. But we now have a seemingly permanent imprint of a baby woodpigeon in the middle of the window, all perfect with eyes, claws etc, so shouldn't be needing any stickers any time soon :)

Good luck...

Have put a black sentinel up - thinking that will do the trick. Now I'm starting to worry that it will serve to frighten off birds....which is cool when they're heading for the window pane - but not cool when I want them to eat all my seeds! Any thoughts on this being likely?
