New local fire requirements will require me to get rid of a lot of trees and plants (1 Viewer)

I have lived in my house for over 25 years and have filled a bird feeder, suet feeder, and hummingbird feeder for about 15 years. I have a lot of birds! I have really enjoyed it, watching everyday through my window. I have spent a lot of money on sunflower seeds and suet and made my own nectar. However, because of severe fire problems in my area during the last few years, we will be required to eliminate a lot of trees and plants in our yard. Especially the tree where I hang the bird feeders. The birds have enjoyed our plants and trees, which have provided a lot of cover for them. So I am really saddened to make this change. We have had a variety of birds, and I have seen parents feeding their young; not to mention a hawk that is able to feed her family as well. Any recommendations for how to proceed in the birds' best interest? Or even just how to cope with the loss? We don't really have any other area on our property that could replace this area. Over the years we have complied with a strict brush clearance policy, but now we have to clear more. Understandable, but so sad for the birds!
