Grebe Help - Long Island, NY - 1/10/2017 (1 Viewer)

Hello, the first photo is a horned grebe. Looking at the bill and coloration of the second bird, I was thinking it could be an eared grebe? Although uncommon, there was one recently spotted in this area. The bill is definitely different. Thank you for your help.

Second bird is a Red-necked Grebe with that long bill and neck
