Hello Forum. I am from coastal South Carolina where I enjoy finding new places to observe and learn about the wide diversity of bird species that live here, visit each year, or pass through on their way to somewhere else.
Here, where waves lap on sandy beaches and blackwater rivers blend with ocean tides, we commonly see osprey, pelicans, sea gulls, herons, egrets, owls, hawks, vultures, and a plethora of migratory birds and songbirds, to name just a few. Right now, we are keeping our eyes peeled for welcome sightings of the beautiful swallow-tailed kite which nests and breeds here each year after spending the winter in South America.
I'm new to this forum and I'm here to find answers to questions and to see what I can learn about birds.
