Hello from Burgundy in central France. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from others on these forums. The bird life round us is broadly similar to southern UK, with just a few nice extras - my favourites are the hoopoes which are quite frequent in the spring and summer. And maybe one day I'll be able to distinguish some of the little brown ones in the hedges...

Hi Melanie and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Welcome Melanie, Burgundy is a great area of France and you are fairly close to the Vercors (south west of Grenoble) which is just fabulous for flowers too. Enjoy your visits here.
