Hello everyone,

I've been a writer of travel and natural history for 35 years. I'm no birding expert, but my wife and I have led tours in Africa, and we also were caretakers in Brown Canyon on the Buenos Aires NWR years ago. I confess to being nearly as interested in the hardware of birding (binoculars and scopes) as the feathered things themselves.
