We fed him, kept him warm, and now he can fly but won’t eat on his own. We tried to set him free, he flew away but when we went back outside he flew back to us. It breaks my heart to let him fly away in a strange place because we haven’t seen him eat on his own, and he seems attached. I don’t know what to do. I’m in Jamul Ca and haven’t been able to find a place to take him.

Hi INH and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. We have some general guidelines here for the care of injured and baby birds. Please let us know how you get on.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi Fran and a warm welcome to you from the east coast.

Surely there must be a humane society or an animal care center somewhere in your vicinity. If not, is there a vet that could possibly help you with some suggestions on where to take it.
I'd appreciate it if you could keep me updated with this matter.

HI, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. A quick google search lead to two wildlife rehabilitation centers in your area: SoCal Parrot, and Avian Rehabilitation Center in Jamal. Look them up and call one is bound to help.
