Hi, my name is Fadoua.
Six months ago, I moved to Hokkaido, northern island of Japan.
Hokkaido has been populated and developed by Japanese people for less that 200 years. The Ainu, original ethnic group of Hokkaido lived here for much longer and they were excellent at respecting nature and preserving it. So, I am excited to learn about the unique wilderness of Hokkaido and especially the birds I encounter in my daily life across seasons!
Yesterday I asked a question before introducing myself. I apologize.
I asked about a bird sound that I have been hearing since April. No one around me knew what it is. I posted a not-so-good recording and I got an identification within 1 day. Amazing! Do you like Latham's snipe?
Since I know what it is, I have been reading about it on the internet.
Now I am fan of this forum and want to share more about the birds in my part of the world.
