Country Bird in the City
Hi everyone! I'm James, and I'm glad to have found this forum. I grew up in a rural area of Georgia and loved watching birds as a child, although I never had much desire to really identify them. It wasn't until I moved away to NYC that I began missing the wilderness I'd taken for granted and wanted to learn more about birds to get back in touch with that.
I'm still learning a lot about the birds native to this area and seeing some firsts every time I go to the parks. The presence of the red-winged blackbirds has been a real treat, since I'd only ever seen them a single time in Georgia but they seem so common here!
I hope to learn a lot more from the experience and advice of everyone here.
