Hinesburg, VT ascending calls at dusk (1 Viewer)

In the past 2 weeks, we have been enjoying a new bird in our little hamlet in Vermont. Can you help us identify it? We live in a deciduous wooded area with marsh and stream aspects...a favorite locale for Veerys. This new bird sings with an ascending note, with a bit of electronica sound to it similar to the veery.

We've also heard a descending note...which to me sounds like a capacitor discharge.

Any thoughts? thanks so much!

An ascending song could be a Swainson's Thrush, which is a close relative of the Veery.

It could also be a Wood Thrush, which also has an ascending song, the 'electronic sound' after its calls and prefers deciduous forests.
