Hi all!

I'm going in south and center of Norway and I really want to see the Atlantic Puffin Fratercula arctica and Snowy Owl Nyctea scandiaca !!
I know I can see Atlantic Puffin on the Runde Island.
Do you know some other sites/places where I can go to see them, more in the South ?

What about Snowy owl?

Please help me!!

Jenny

Hey, if you want the snowy owl, Norway is unfortunately not the best place. Its occurence is extremely irregular and difficult to predict. Breeding is just confirmed a couple of times the last years and it does not breed here every year. Some times(very rare) vagrant birds come much further south and might then be stable for a week or so. This is the way most Norwegian birders have seen it. Finnmark is a vast county and there is of course always a chance to see one and it is indeed underbirded. So no there is not a spot or location where your chances are great. Sorry, you will have better luck in Alaska.
