Hello, newbie here! Absolutely love birds and want to be a knowledgeable twitcher! My cat has just sadly killed this beauty; I'd love to know what it is please?

It's a leiothrix. If it's any consolation to you, the species is not native to the area (the local populations in Europe and North America originating from escaped cagebirds that were imported from East Asia).

Ah hi new bird friends! Thanks so much. I wondered why I couldn't find it on the local species lists! I hope it's not the neighbours pet (they have some caged birds). πŸ™
