Has anyone else managed to see the resident Water Rail that lives in Valentines park, Ilford? I got a beautiful view of it recently (an adult male btw) But was walking my daughters dog at the time and didn't have my camera with me.

Where abouts in the park is it? I can't think of anywere reedy, saying that I have not been there for a few years.

The folks live near there so I might pop in to have a look next time I am down. Valentines is a great park.

Hi. On the eastern side of the lake. (The opposite side to the county cricket pitch) The bank is a lot higher with a lot of bushy undergrowth. The beast appears to wander up and down, in between the bushes and reeds.
Valentines is a great park. With seven different species of duck, making an appearence, last year.

Changing the subject, slightly. I drive all over Essex, because of my job. (Courier driver) What am I likely to see, on a quick stop at Brightlingsea or Wivenhoe?
