Juvenile Cooper's? What is this guy? (1 Viewer)

Any idea what this little guy might be? Our security camera caught this small raptor(ish) guy today. We haven't seen him around before, but with the influx of pine siskins this year, we may be seeing quite a few more hawks, etc than usual. He is tiny bit larger than a robin, but smaller than any of the Cooper's we've seen around this year. I'm sort of thrown by the underwing area - looks like it's largely solid color with a lighter band. Sorry the quality isn't that great. Thanks in advance!

Could you give the location and date, please? Thanks.
From the species you mention, I assume this is somewhere in N America - and the bird in the photos is a pine siskin.
I'm afraid that you've got the size rather wrong, as judging the size of a lone bird is notoriously unreliable.

So sorry - Wisconsin, United States, 12:30pm Central time. I know it's not a pine siskin - what I meant was that there are so many siskins around this year, that the raptors are coming out of the woodwork!

Sorry, I wasn't referring to your comments about pine siskins. I meant that the bird in the photos is a pine siskin. Note bill-shape, notched tail, underpart pattern, wing-pattern.

Well I'll be darned! He looks much larger on the security tape. My bad - I went outside and looked at the camera and the strand of Virginia Creeper the bird was sitting on and it's really close to the lens. How funny! Thanks for the "perspective"!
