Juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker? (1 Viewer)

Saw this bird at Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary in Ingleside, Ontario, Canada,
on May 4th.

I am quite certain now that it is a sapsucker but it has no red on the head (like the female does) or on the throat like the male yellow-bellied sapsucker have. This must mean it is a juvenile but I didn't think there were birds in juvenile plumage in early May, though I guess I'm probably wrong on that. It also deosn't resemble pictures of other juveniles I've seen, in that the plumage on this one is more full.

Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks
(first time posting on this site) :)
