Little ringed plover mating behavior (1 Viewer)

Today I had the chance to see and film little ringed plovers mating on a beach of southern Corsica. I had seen flight displays of this species before but not the actual mating part. As you can see on the video, the male gets behing the female and seems to be hitting the cloaca repeatedly with its feet.
I wonder what is the reason for this, some kind of stimulation ?
