unless i'm badly mistaken, the attached is a little ringed plover - or is this just wishful thinking ?

Yes that’s what I’m assuming- it appears to have a chunky bill, and white seems heavy on the supercilium. Also no yellow on orbital ring.

Edit- also brow is still heavy behind the eye.

Hi. Agree with, Bewick, looks fine for a Ringed (common), no orbital ring, and the edge to the ear coverts/cheek has a rounded curved shape to it, on Little Ringed, it's more pointed.
